In QuarkXPress 8 a major change has been implemented for grids and gridlines. A completely new set of grid features, organized under the Design Grid feature, are extensions of the baseline grid feature in versions 7 and earlier. Design grids make it even easier for you to define grids, allowing you to align text and objects precisely on both the page and text box levels. For more information on working with Design Grids, see the PDF file, QXP User Guide, pp. 102 ff., located in the Documents folder of your QuarkXPress folder
You can set the grid colors in the Preferences dialog for Guides and Grid. To set the increments for your Page or Text Grids, go to Window > Grid Styles to set up which grid lines you want to display and at what increments (distance) between grid lines.
