Useful for:
- Creating text that runs along a line
- Creating text that runs along a circle
Procedure:
To Create Text on a Path in QuarkXPress 8:
- Select the Pen or Line tool in the Tools palette for the type of path you want to create.

Draw the line that you want the text to flow along.
Note!: At this point the line has no content type in QuarkXPress 8. -
Select the Text Content Tool and double-click on the line on which you want your text to flow.
Note!: Once you select the Text Content tool and double-click on the line you have drawn, the line is converted to a text path. - Enter the text you want to flow along the path.
To create text that flows around the edges of a box in QuarkXPress 8:
- Select the Box tool for the type of path shape you want (Square, Round, Bézier, etc.) and draw the box.
- Go to Item > Shape and select the Bézier Line shape.
- Select the Text Content tool and double-click on the bézier line. The cursor will flash at the beginning point determined by QuarkXPress for the path.
- Enter the text you want to flow along the path.
To Create Text on a Path in QuarkXPress 7 and earlier:
- Select the Text Path tool for the type of path you want to create.
- Draw the Text Path.
- Once you have completed drawing the path, select the Content tool in the Tools palette. At this point the text cursor will begin blinking at the beginning point of the text path.
- Enter the text you want to flow along the path.
To create text that flows around the edges of a box in QuarkXPress 7 and earlier:
- Select the Text Box tool for the type of box you want to draw (Square, Round, Bézier, etc.) and draw the box.
- Go to Item > Shape and select the Bézier Line shape.
- Select the Content tool in the Tools palette. The cursor will flash at the beginning point determined by QuarkXPress for the path.
- Enter the text you want to flow along the path.
