An anchor is simply a pointer to a specific place in a layout. To create an anchor:






  1. Choose Window > Hyperlinks. The Hyperlinks palette displays.


    • Click the New Anchor button in the Hyperlinks palette.

    • Choose Style > Anchor > New.

    • Display the Hyperlinks palette menu and choose New Anchor.

    • Display the context menu for the selected text or item and choose Anchor > New.



  2. Enter a name for the anchor in the Anchor Name field or choose an unused anchor name from the drop-down menu.

  3. Click OK.



Note: To create an 'empty' anchor, deselect everything and then click the New Anchor button in the Hyperlinks palette. Use this method to create hyperlinks that point to anchors in parts of the layout that you don't have access to or that you haven't created yet.






Using the Style menu:




  1. Indicate where you want the anchor to be placed by selecting a range of text or a picture box.

  2. Go to Style > Anchor > New (or Right Click to engage the Context Menu for the selected item) and choose Anchor > New.

  3. Enter a name for the anchor in the Anchor Name field or choose an unused anchor name from the drop-down list.

  4. Click OK. The anchor you created becomes available as a destination in the Hyperlinks palette.
