Summary

Vector EPS and PDF files output as color managed in flattened output when vector CMS is on with the Color Manage CMYK to CMYK destination is unchecked in source setup.



Solution:

1. Launch QXP and create a new project.

2. Navigate to menu bar QuarkXPress > Preferences (For MAC) or Edit > Preferences (For Windows)

3. Under Color Manager > Choose the Source Setup > QuarkXPress 7.0 Default.

4. Import the vector EPS and PDF files in the new document.

5. Invoke the Preferences from QuarkXPress menu >> Preferences (MAC) or Edit >> Preferences (Windows)

6. Under Color Manager >> Uncheck the option' Color Manager Vector EPS/PDF' ; Click OK

7. Now Export the Layout as PDF/EPS and output in CMYK/DeviceN/InRIP Separations with flattening.

8. Open the PDF in Acrobat and verify the colors.
