Background:
In some cases it has been observed when legacy projects are opened in QuarkXPress 10.x / QuarkXPress 2015, Grayscale and 1 bit images appear black in color. It was identified as known issue with above mentioned versions of QuarkXPress and is fixed in QuarkXPress 2016. However, this behavior can be fixed in version 10.x/ 2015 by running Apple Script.
Solution:
1. Launch the QuarkXPress and open the affected project.
2. Double click on script file. (details of creating Applescript are mentioned below)
3. After launching the script editor just run. All images picture background are converted to white.
