Quark offers self-help for evaluation users. We do not currently offer any additional assistance to individual evaluation users.

Once the trial period has ended, Quark Support cannot assist you in extending your trial, even if the trial ended prematurely. Trial periods end prematurely for various reasons, including software or/and system updates, evaluation file tampered.

  1. Appdata folder mentioned in below steps is an hidden folder, please allow the hidden folders to be displayed before you try this manipulation
  2. On Mac, it is possible that the Library folder is hidden on your system. To display this folder navigate to the “Go” menu item in the menu bar at the top of your screen. As the drop down appears, press and hold the “Options/ALT” key of your keyboard, the library will appear in the list.

Step 1 : Rebuilding preferences in QuarkXPress

WIN 7/WIN VISTA :

    • Close the application QuarkXPress.
    • Navigate to C:\Users\Current Users\ Appdata >Local> Quark>QuarkXPress 10.
    • Here rename this folder QuarkXPress 10 as Old QuarkXPress 10.
    • Launch QuarkXPress again.

WIN XP:

    • Close the application QuarkXPress.
    • Navigate to C:\ Documents and settings\ Current User \Application Data\Quark\QuarkXPress 10 (Remove this folder QuarkXPress 10).
    • Launch QuarkXPress again.

MAC OS :

    • Close the application QuarkXPress.
    • Navigate to MAC HD > Users > Current user > Library> Preferences > QuarkXPress 10 Folder
    • Rename this folder QuarkXPress 10 as “Old QuarkXPress 10”
    • Then re-launch QuarkXPress.

Step 2 : Try validating the fonts :

  1. Navigate to MAC HD > Applications > Font book.
  2. Launch the font book. Select all the fonts in the list at towards the left.
  3. Go to the menu File > validate the Fonts.
  4. Please see if there are any fonts that appear in red after the validation.
  5. We recommend you to validate the fonts at least 2-3 times.

Step 3 : Try to restart your compter in safe mode:

Safe Mode is a way to start up your machine to performs certain checks and prevents certain software from automatically loading or opening.

Mac OS : To start up into Safe Mode (to Safe Boot), follow these steps.

  1. Be sure your Mac is shut down.
  2. Press the power button.
  3. Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key.
  4. The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
  5. Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple logo and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
  6. After the logo appears, you should see a progress bar during startup. This indicates that your computer is performing a directory check as part of Safe Mode.
  7. To leave Safe Mode, restart your computer without holding any keys during startup.

Windows OS :

  • If your computer has a single operating system installed, press and hold the F8 key as your computer restarts. You need to press F8 before the Windows logo appears. If the Windows logo appears, you'll need to try again by waiting until the Windows logon prompt appears, and then shutting down and restarting your computer.
  • If your computer has more than one operating system, use the arrow keys to highlight the operating system you want to start in safe mode, and then press F8.
